Our Double IPA is loaded with Pacific Northwest hops blended with a light malt backbone. A bitter Valentine for you to love, how ever unrequited.

A limited release concoction from the minds of Alewerks. A Bitter Valentine base is allowed to age on orange and graprefruit peels before the brewers add a secret, custom dry-hop blend to taste.

Imperial Stout aged on Montmorency cherries in Woodford Reserve Barrels.

An Imperial Porter, brewed with Caribbean unrefined sugar and aged for two months in Virginia Gentleman Bourbon barrels. The Porter's traditional flavors of coffee, chocolate, and caramel are complimented by vanilla and hints of bourbon.

This is a colonial style predecessor to the IPA contract brewed for Colonial Williamsburg.

This is our Coffeehouse Stout amped up to 8% abv and aged for a couple of months in Virginia Gentleman Reserve Bourbon Barrels. Another unique AleWerks beer which blends the rich, coffee-milk stout flavors with those of vanilla and bourbon.

Caledonia is a session-able IPA featuring Styrian Goldings, Willamette, and Fuggle hops balanced with pale male and crystal malts. ABV:4.5%

Our dry-hopped Pale ale is golden in color with a pleasant citrus hop aroma followed by flavors of light malt and American hops. Finishes smooth with a light hop finish.

Our Winter seasonal is made with Guatemala Antigua coffee in an effort to bring a sense of warmth to the colder months. Expect flavors of Coffee, cocoa, milk sugar, and roasted malt all wrapped in a smooth, full-bodied milk stout.

For the colonial-style porter, we're getting all the color from molasses and burnt brown sugar. We boil it in a cast-iron pot.

An American style unfiltered Wheat Ale. An effervescent and light ale, it is a refreshing summer afternoon thirst quencher. Wheat beer’s history goes back to the Pharaohs of Egypt. By the 16th century it was popular in Germany where it is usually served quite cold, and with a slice of lemon. American Wheat Beer, which can be traced to the colonial brewer’s need to stretch scarce European imported malt with adjuncts like wheat, has a less fruity, more balanced taste and finish than its German relative, the result of American hops and yeast.

This dark mild ale is the first in a series of experimental beers that Alewerks will be releasing periodically. The Dark Mild Ale is 3.8% ABV. A wonderful session beer.

Brewed exclusively for Colonial Williamsburg, our spiced wheat ale has notes of cardamom, grains of paradise, coriander, and long peppers.

Golden in color with an intense citrusy, floral aroma due to a lengthy dry hop process. Expect flavors of citrus, fruit, light malt, hints of powdered sugar, and American hops. Finishes clean & dry with a smack of hoppy goodness.

A highly hopped contemporary India Pale Ale. Brewed with copious amounts of Cascade and Amarillo hops, this IPA is balanced nicely with a strong malt body. A great beer for any occasion. Brewed originally as the beer ration for British troops in India, it was preserved with extra hops and higher alcohol for the long sea voyage. India Pale Ale, IPA as it is usually referred to, has become America’s second most popular microbrewery style. If you enjoy a rich, aggressive hop flavor, this is your ale of choice.

A spiced English Winter-warmer. Traditional holiday spices are added in the kettle and fermenter after fermentation is complete.

Unfiltered, hazy, and medium yellow in color. We dry hop this beer to give it a pleasant hoppy aroma that blends nice with the breadiness of the wheat malt. Our year round thirst quencher.

A celebration of St. Patrick's Day, this light, airy stout on nitrogen drinks smooth and chocolate-y.

This amber colored ale is loaded with Pumpkin pie aroma and flavor. It actually does taste like Pumpkin pie! At 7.3% ABV, it will keep you warm on a cool Autumn eve.

An Imperial Porter brewed with a Haitian sugar called Rapadou. Rapadou is a traditionally processed cane sugar that lends a great toffee caramel flavor to our 9% ABV Porter. Watch for this one aged in oak barrels in the future. Limited edition of 2007 bottles.

Ruby red in color with aromas of dark fruit, honey and and caramel malt. Hints of caramel, fruit, plums, and a touch of roast, come through in the flavor ending with a dry, lightly hopped finish.

This unique IPA, brewed in collaboration with The Virginia Beer Company,is built on a foundation of spicy rye, luscious crystal, pale and a touch of roasted malt. It features a relatively new hop varietal called "Azacca"- which imparts citrus and tropical fruit notes.

Munich Helles Lager brewed with jalapenos and lime

You just may fall in love with this DIPA. Its intense hop kick comes from a healthy dose of Mosaic hops.

Shorty Time is our "Social IPA". What this means to us is that you get all the flavor of an IPA, but in a beer at only 4.8% ABV. At AleWerks, when the work is done and the day is over we proclaim "Shorty Time!!!" and everyone grabs a beer. Expect aromas of tropical fruit and grapefruit, followed by a light malt body and big citrus character.

8.3% ABV “This juicy Double IPA is brewed with all late-addition Sabro and Mosaic hops. Aromatics of vanilla, oak, and raspberry. Hop flavors of strawberry, candied fruits, and caramel can all be tasted with no hop bite or hang. A graham cracker body adds a hint of sweetness for extra refreshment.”

Springhouse is an aged Belgium Saison (Farmhouse Ale). 8% ABV, it pours gold-amber, is well carbonated but has a small to non existent head, and has a sweet fruity aroma with apples, green grapes and apricots the dominant taste. This is an interesting ale that deserves your attention.

Brewed with maple and walnut

Deep Brown in color with a nutty, chocolate aroma and big flavors of caramel, chocolate, and pecans. Fruity American hops balance out the finish.

Our take on a Belgian-style Tripel is named after the schooner "Atlantic". This gorgeous vessel achieved 20 knots during her sea trials in 1903. Expect aromas of banana,light clove, and pear followed by flavors of apricot, spicy esters, and pear. This beer has a light sweetness but finishes dry with a touch of hop attitude.

Very dark brown/black in color with and aroma of chocolate and malt and flavors of caramel, sweet chocolate and a touch roasted barley.

Our light, hazy take on a Belgian White ale. This beer has an aroma of corriander and orange peel with a flavor of wheat, orange, coriander, and fruit. Very refreshing on a warm, sunny day!
