Extra Billy's

Roasty yet smooth. A moderately hopped brown ale with chocolate notes and a smooth mouth feel.

Brewed exclusively with Citra hops, this IPA has a tropical, citrusy, even grapefruit aroma and taste. Deadly smooth. Perfectly balanced between bitterness and sweetness, even those not fond of hops have come to love this one. One sip and you'll want to Citra Ass Down for another!

This beer was brewed collaboratively with Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery. Continental Shift is exclusively brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops; a very unique and extraordinary hop grown in New Zealand. Nelson Sauvin, named after the Sauvignon Blanc grapes found in white wines, provides flavors and aromas of fresh crushed white wine grapes, gooseberries, and tropical notes of tangerines and grapefruit. Perfectly balanced with a dry, crisp finish, you'll find yourself making a "Shift" from the Northern Hemisphere to the Southern.

This is our tribute to the Belgian Pale Ale.  This malty, toasty, biscuity pale ale has a light orange peel aroma that lingers among the the bready malt profile.  Slightly spicy with hints of fruity esters, this pale ale is smooth and refreshing; perfectly balanced.  Pours an orange amber hue and a persistent, thick white head.

Imperial Black Rye IPA. Brewed with a bunch of Amarillo and Citra hops. It has a nice spice character in the malt from the rye yet balanced with the presence of American hops.

Typical banana and clove flavor and aroma. Very clean and crisp. This beer was brewed with Chris Cone and Bryce Carter for winning the Extra Billy's/JRHB homebrew competition.

Blessed with hops like Simcoe and Chinook, Hoptrick is the standard for an american IPA. A wonderful aroma and a balanced, clean finish make this a perfect beer to enjoy in the sun or shade. Dry hopped with Cascade

Brewed in collaboration with An Bui of The Answer Brewpub. This is our second version of Kong Krush, the first version had Citra and Simcoe hops. This time around we used Citra and Mosaic hops; both in the boil and for dry-hopping. Tangerine, pineapple, and grapefruit aromas present themselves up front in the nose, coupled with a dry, crisp malt profile and a burst of citrus in the taste and finish. If The Answer is beer, then that beer is Kong Krush!!

A dry, crisp IPA with all of your favorite hops: Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, and Simcoe. Dry hopped accordingly for a great aroma. Pours a light straw hue with plenty of hops to quench any thirst.

From the depths of which it came, we present to you: Midlo. This pale ale is reinforced with citrusy, piney and slightly spicy hop flavors and aromatics. With a light body and a crisp, dry finish, the pale malt lets the hops take the lead, but not the show.

Perfect for the summer. My Only Weiss starts with the best German Pilsner malt, American Wheat malt, and the noblest of hops to produce our unfiltered take on a German classic. Refreshing and crisp, with hints of clove and banana, this beer was made for hot days and cool friends.

This brown ale displays just enough chocolate roast character to meld in with biscuit and nutty notes from English malts and oats.  It displays a defined hop character to add balance, without stealing the show from its sweet side. Brewed with Paul Teller, one of three Extra Billy's / James River Home Brewers contest winners!  If you see Paul, bow your head to show respect!

A complex and roasty ale with notes of bittersweet dark chocolate and coffee, Proverbial Porter warms from the inside out.  Pours a touch under absolute black with a creamy tan head.

Brewed with Summit and Cascade hops, Sid's Amber is a resfreshing Amber ale with a smooth malty balance. A great pairing with our barbeque and patio! Formerly known as Citra Ass Down. Brewed exclusively with Citra hops.

With hints of orange peel and pepper, Tripel Beam weighs in with 8.8% abv.  Pours a bit hazy with a golden straw hue.  Complimented with a persistent, foamy white head and an effervescent, lightly sweet finish.

Umbra, Latin for shadow, is the innermost and darkest part of a shadow, where light is completely blocked by the occluding body. An appropriate name for such an offering. With dark chocolate and caramel malts, Umbra displays layers of coffee and chocolate in the aroma as well on your palate. Full-bodied with a roasted, toasty finish.
