This complex beer was brewed in cognac barrels that have contained cognac for at least 40 years. You will experience a mild alcohol aroma that is balanced by vanilla overtones coming from the wood and a fresh fruitiness reminiscent of apricots. The mouthfeel is velvety with flavors of honey coming through with every sip.

Elegant & complex, w/ deliciously refreshing notes of sour & tart cherry, light malt, citrus, & some light funk & oak from the barrel-aging.

A most clear golden, airy off-white head. Nose is smokey and is round and warming, let me think more on a Lagavulin than on a Port Charlotte. Smoked bacon, slightly oak, wood. Nose is very lively, peated, pronounced. Taste is ashes, bitter, fresh, vanilla, oak, but feels a bit out of balance. Sweet finish, smokey. Good brew.

Sour Ale

Zure Van Tildonk is an original Belgian Sour Ale from Farm-Brewery Hof Ten Dormaal. With this beer, the brewery strived to create a special, spontaneoussly-fermented beer via traditional methods using ambient yeast from the brewery-farm in Tildonk. Each batch of Zure van Tildonk is carefully aged in the cellars of Engelburch Monastery for several months prior to release.
