Light, Refreshing, Slight citrus flavor, very slight haze

The newest batch of our American Stout was reformulated to a recipe composed entirely of malt from Murphy & Rude Malting Co. out of Charlottesville VA. We used their English Pale malt to build a backbone that was nutty and sweet and then layered in their Toasted Oats and Crystal Wheat to build up sweeter tones of whole grain cereal and baked goods.

A complex beer that begins sweet and finishes dry, with a pleasant warmth that hints to its significant ABV. Aromas of pear, apple, and citrus, mingle with clove and spice that give way to biscuit malt tones and a surprisingly refreshing body.

Modeled after a Beglain Quadrupel, Avec Frère 11 is the biggest beer in our Belgian Abbey Beer series, and pays homage to many of the Belgian Dark Strong Ales that helped inspire the series. The nose is rich and sweet with aromas of cherry, rose, and bready malt. The flavor is similar to the aroma, but with impressions of dried fruit, persimmon, spicy yeast, and a rich, sweet, malty character that leaves hints of vanilla.

A crisp and hoppy pale ale with melon and earthy notes from Azacca hops balanced with classic bright American hops.

Our Sour Pale Ale is hopped with Azacca and has notes of passionfruit and melon.

While many folks have never tasted a black walnut, most are familiar with the large green nuts that blanket autumnal forest floors. We combined these distinctive native walnuts with Riverebend’s malted oats to produce a smooth and easy drinking robust porter.

A mixture of American and New Zealand hops make for a bright IPA with notes of citrus and ripe mango.

Our latest Pale Ale pairs Murphy & Rude’s 6-Row Pale malt with one of the newest hop varieties coming out of Australia: Eclipse. You can expect the same profile of pastry dough and fresh hay, as well as the round body and mild haze that we have come to love from this malt, but this time against an entirely different hop profile.

West Coast IPA

Our Mixed Culture Grisette that has been refermented on Blueberries for three weeks. Nice and dry with a tart, tannic blueberry finish.

A traditional Grodziskie, a low alcohol smoked wheat beer that is filled with oakey smoke, yet very dry and drinkable. We took local peaches for this batch and grilled them before adding them to the fermentor for a secondary fermentation. The result is a great balance between smoke and fruit in a great summertime beer.

Bready pilsner malt is the dominant note in this clean and crisp sessionable lager, brewed to the style of Bavarian Helles.

Our house mixed culture makes a subtley complex grisette that is countered with hoppy fruity aromatics.

Herbal, Lemon and Tangerine Zest, Bright, Bitter

A cream ale base that has been turned on its head with a light kettle sour and a dry hop with Lemondrop hops and fresh lemon zest to make a tart, thirst quenching session beer.

This pale, dry, golden-colored lager was brewed to showcase characteristics of two New Zealand hops, Kohatu and Wakatu. The aroma features floral, lime like notes from Wakatu and bright tropical fruit from Kohatu. It is medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel, and a smooth palate and finish, with a subtly bready malt base that provides support for this very drinkable, refreshing, hop-forward beer.

A Belgian style Saison with copious amounts of New Zealand hop varietals which lend lemon and lime notes to the fruity spice of our house saison yeast.

Drawing heavily from Norwegian Farmhouse traditions we fermented this IPA with Kveik yeast and left the wort “raw” or unboiled. This process has an interesting impact on the proteins in the grain and yields a beer with a round body but dry finish.

Brewed with an aggressive amount of Murphy & Rude Rolled Oats, this Oatmeal Stout is designed to have a smooth creamy texture and medium body, but it stands out with a mildly bitter finish that keeps it from being too sweet. It has mild roasted grain aromas, with highlights of toffee, oatmeal, and nutty granola. Many of these flavors carry over into the flavor but with the addition of dark chocolate, raw oats, and espresso with cream.

Shadow Crop is a Black IPA that is intended to represent the harmonious merging of roasty dark malts and pungent hops. A combination of Columbus and Simcoe deliver an aroma that is dank and woody with top notes of pine resin and orange peel. Behind this are tones of cold brew coffee that hint to roasty malts. The flavor is robust and leads with grapefruit, but also showcases earthy, spicy, notes and a restrained black coffee character.

Melon, Peach, Pear, peppery

A rich and complex milk stout with Thai Tea added after fermentation, bringing notes of vanilla and a balancing black tea bitterness to balance the sweet lactose and chocolate notes of the base beer.

A healthy dose of fruity hops and complex farmhouse esters create a delicious blend of two beer styles.

Pouring a much paler color than our other hazy IPAs, Tricknology is a hop forward beer that is primarily hopped with Azacca and Mosaic. It smells strongly of both tropical and orchard fruit with a ripe mango note throughout. The flavor is more citrus forward, tasting of orange juice, ripe pineapple, and subtle pine. Its soft mouthfeel is owed to a high percentage of oats and the unique yeast used to produce it, but the hops provide enough bitterness to leave the beer with balance.
