As the story goes, the markings on the trees along the trail now known as Three Notch’d Road, were made by axes chopping away at the bark. For this reason, the road was also called Three Chopt Road and today is labeled as such where the historic trail crosses through Richmond. Our Brewmaster will be chopping away, as well, into the 200 pounds of locally grown pumpkins for our Three Chopt Pumpkin Ale. This fall harvest beer is a gathering of everything we know and love about the fall (except football). Laying the foundation is a nice hearty malt profile with a blend of caramel and crystal malts. The earthiness of the English hops go hand-in-hand with the festive spices of cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg and together make this beer the perfect autumn-time beverage.
