Muscadine White Ale Aged in Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels
Sugar Creek Brewing Company
White Ale – 5.4% ABV
A new beer for the New Year! On New Year’s Eve Sugar Creek Brewing Company will be releasing a small batch brew in the tap room, a Muscadine White Ale aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. The aroma delivers the distinctive sweetness of a perfectly ripe Muscadine grape while the beer serves up an incredible flavor produced by the union of the Sugar Creek White Ale, the Muscadine grapes and the process of aging this beer in Cabernet Sauvignon French Oak barrels. For the Sugar Creek Muscadine White Ale, our beer engineers traveled back to the 7th century, deep into the Low Country where modern day Belgium resides and Oak trees were considered magical, life giving and medicinal trees. The Sugar Creek Muscadine White Ale combines the ancient mysticism surrounding the French Oak in Belgian folklore with locally harvested Scuppernong Muscadine grapes. Our beer engineers chose Muscadine grapes because they are the North Carolina state fruit and the grapes come from the oldest Muscadine vine in North America, located in North Carolina. Muscadine grapes are one of nature’s richest sources of polyphenolic antioxidants, which help protect the body from damaging effects of oxygen free radicals, which can contribute to degenerative diseases. It is our hope that this beer will bring good health and happiness to all who drink it. So enjoy shamelessly and cheers to a New Year!
