Hop-It | Urthel Ruiselede, Belgium | Belgian IPA 9.5% ABV | Hildegard returned from the Anchorage Barleywine Festival, January 2005, inspired by the wonderfully hoppy beers she tried there. Barleywines, IPA, Double IPA and all manner of over-the-top beers sparked her creative impuls and the result is Belgium's first Belgian Style IPA, Urthel Hop-It of 9.5% ABV.
Saisonniere | Urthel Ruiselede, Belgium | Belgian Pale 6% ABV | Urthel Saisonnière, brewed since November 2009, is a top-fermented blond Special Ale with refermentation from bottle (bottle conditioned). Urthel Saisonnière is unfiltered so the best of the malts and hops stays here it belongs. In the beer. It has a wide pallet of the finest rich aromas and a full subtle bitter taste. That makes Urthel Saisonnière a thirst-quenchener of 6.0% ABV with a "bite".
Nicely poured in its origanal extraordinary glass Urthel Saisonnière becomes a beautiful foam head. This is due to the 20% of wheat which is used.
Samaranth | Urthel Ruiselede, Belgium | Belgian Strong 11.5% ABV | Urthel Samaranth 12 Quadrium Ale was such a hit that it has been in the selection ever since. Dusky, light brown in color with a slightly off-white foam. In the nose, it's sweet and faintly spicy with notes of dried fruit, nuts, chocolate and marzipan.
On the palate, it's big and bold, massively malty and slightly warming from the alcohol. It is long and shockingly dry in the finish. |
