This year's BRT, brewed at Starr Hill, is an 8.8% abv, 85 IBU DIPA packed with Apollo, Simcoe, Columbus, & Motueka hops in the kettle and then dry hopped with Centennial, Mosaic, Simcoe, & Falconer's Flight. Holy Hops, Batman!

Starr Hill Amber Ale is an award-winning Irish Red Ale. Brewed in the tradition of the great English ales, its rich honey color hints at its smooth, caramel flavoring. With a medium body and slightly sweet finish, this is an extremely drinkable brew that is characterized by rich malt taste and low bitterness.

(Collaboration beer with Hardywood Park) Dry-hopped with Sorachi Ace and Mandarina Bavaria hops and spiced with fresh local ginger.

Starr Hill’s All Access American Barley Wine is characterized by massive quantities of caramel malt. Burnt sugar notes from the malt are balanced by dry-hopping with resinous American Centennial hops, which produces a strong aroma of fresh citrus.

Barrel Aged Version: Cryptical packs a wallop of dark malt flavor. The beer weighs in at 7.5% ABV and has flavors of licorice and anise. Cryptical is dry-hopped with American Hops to balance out its full body with a floral aroma.

Boxcar Pumpkin Porter is a traditional English-style Brown Porter with pumpkin added to the mash. Light spicing allows the subtle flavors of pumpkin and roasty porter to shine through. Boxcar is a session beer at 4.7% and very drinkable.

This light and refreshing beer is the perfect balance of Honey malt and Cascade hops for a smooth body and clean finish. It's the ultimate beverage for live music on a hot summer day.

This dry-hopped Czech Pilsner is crafted with Pilsner malt, Czech hops and lager yeast. It is golden in color with a mildly floral hop flavor and clean malt finish.

Peppercorn Farmhouse Ale

Starr Hill’s Dark Starr Stout has won more national and international awards than any other Dry Irish Stout in the country. Brewed with roasted barley, and with hints of coffee and dark chocolate, it packs a robust taste into a surprisingly light body. This signature brew pours like velvet and drinks like a slice of grandma’s pumpernickel bread.

Brewed in the Highland tradition, this ale’s notable features come from Scottish yeast and an extended maturation time. Rich, smooth and deeply malty, the aroma of dark fruit and caramel precedes this full-bodied beer’s clean malt finish.

This double IPA features Denali hops from the Pacific Northwest, which bring huge pineapple and berry notes while nicely complementing the citrus flavors of additional hops. Hop character is balanced by a smooth malt backbone and subtle bitter finish,

Farmhouse IPA is the spunky, hopped-up cousin of saison. A light malt bill and dry French Saison yeast form a crisp and clean saison base. Citra and Galaxy hops blast this base and accentuate the fruity yeast esters creating a perfect, go-to IPA for the summer.

Debut #1: Tripel is Starr Hill’s own take on the classic ale made famous by the Trappist breweries in Belgium. Brewed with crushed coriander, fruit and citrus notes compliment the spicy yeast character and create a deep and complex flavor. At 9.5% alcohol by volume, the Tripel is incredibly well balanced with the perfect touch of sweetness as well as a slight bitterness from US Saaz hops.

Debut #2: Nitro Oatmeal Cookie Stout is a smooth-bodied oatmeal stout brewed with vanilla beans and cinnamon. Aromas of chocolate, vanilla and spice take you back to grandma’s kitchen. Chewy oats and chocolate malt dominate the palate. The smooth mouthfeel provided by the nitrogen makes this beer the liquid version of an oatmeal cookie.

Grateful creates a fresh spin on the American Pale Ale tradition. A strong citrusy, resinous aroma from the American hops leads into a light body with subtle malt flavor. Grateful is a sessionable brew at 4.7% abv.

Hibiscus is added to unfiltered Basketcase American Helles, providing a slightly floral aroma and a nice red hue, which really shows itself in the pink foam - a pleasant little addition to an already clean lager. Some tartness from the hibiscus tea we make and add to this beer creates a very easy drinking lager.

King of Hop Imperial India Pale Ale is brewed with heaps of American hops from the Pacific Northwest, including Citra, Simcoe, Amarillo and Falconer’s Flight. The beer is generously dry-hopped to achieve an invigoratingly fresh aroma, which highlights the powerful citrus characteristics of the hops. Flavor notes of orange peel, passion fruit, grapefruit, and gooseberry lend balance to the bracingly herbal bite and dry finish.

Starr Hill’s Little Red RooStarr Coffee Stout is a full-bodied milk stout brewed with coffee from our friends at Red Rooster Coffee Roasters in Floyd, VA. Malt sweetness, chocolate and caramel notes dominate the flavor, while roasted coffee notes add balance and round out the aroma.

Shakedown Imperial Chocolate Cherry Stout is a full-bodied imperial stout with cherries and dark chocolate blended into the beer during fermentation. Aged in bourbon barrels for several months, it acquired vanilla and toasted coconut notes. Aromas of bittersweet chocolate and subtle fruit delight the senses. Tartness from the cherries balances the smooth cocoa sweetness. Malty, chocolate and dark fruit flavors create a rich and complex beer that is meant to be savored slowly.

Monticello Reserve Ale is an unfiltered American wheat-style beer made with wheat and corn. East Kent Goldings hops add a citrus and earthy aroma. The taste is very light on the palate with a clean finish. Wheat is the biggest flavor contributor, while the sweetness of the corn comes through in the aftertaste.

An India pale ale celebrating "Ménage À VA," that is, a meeting of Virginia breweries from three corners of the Commonwealth. Friends from O'Connor Brewing Co. and Fair Winds Brewing Co. joined us in crafting a special IPA featuring lupulin powder, an oil-rich dust, derived from Ekuanot, Cascade, and Simcoe hops. Huge tropical fruit notes nicely complement the citrus flavors of the hop powder. The beer was released at Craft Brewers' Conference 2017 in Washington, D.C.

This New England-style IPA's intense haziness is attributed to the massive amount of hops added during the whirlpool and dry hop. With six different hops and two additional hop products, we’ve create our juiciest IPA ever. The specific hop blend is designed to focus on tropical citrus flavors, while allowing for the right amount of settling time to create a nice hop haze, not a "hop shake."

Characterized by its full-flavored bitterness and poignant citrus-floral aroma, a perfect blend of barley and hops make this a very balanced IPA. For the craftbrew connoisseur, Northern Lights is a deliciously crafted piece of the heavens.

Single Hop Pale Ale

Starr Hill’s Psycho Kilter Wee Heavy is characterized by its huge malty nose with hints of roastiness. A full, sweet palate with very little hops, this high-gravity brew is the Scots’ unique specialty.

A dank red IPA full of resinous piney hop character, balanced by toasty malt notes and a silky mouthfeel.

Reviver is an India Pale Ale that blurs the boundaries between IPA and Amber styles. Specialty malts provide its inviting ruby-red hue, medium body and firm maltiness, while American hops impart a refreshing citrus aroma and flavor.

This Rye IPA is the first of its kind at Starr Hill! The malt bill plays host to 15% rye, with subtle honey malt accent. Tropical Calypso hops complement and bolster the spiciness of the rye, allowing the grain to shine. The dry finish leaves you wanting more.

Sabbath Black IPA takes the idea of a traditional India Pale Ale and turns it on its head. Dark and mysterious Chocolate malt lends extremely subtle flavor, though mostly gives this beer its color: black as the night that spawned it. Powerful hop aromas of lemon. orange. and grapefruit derive from a bevy of West Coast hops. Sabbath is of one of the darkest, hoppiest and most monstrous beers we’ve ever brewed.

Our collaboration with Trim Tab Brewing in Birmingham, AL. This unique take on a session pale ale highlights one hop in particular: the American hop Calypso. This new hop variety provides a pleasant fruity aroma, with hints of pear and apple. Additions of honey and witbier yeast, offer complexity to this summer beer.

A medium-bodied German-style smoke beer. The flavor is malty with a slight sweetness that gives way to an aroma of smoke, bacon and campfire. The beer is fermented at cold temperatures with Bavarian Lager yeast to round out its strong flavor.

Starr Hill’s Snow Blind Doppelbock Lager is a full-bodied winter seasonal brew. Its massive caramel aroma belies its fresh and lightly toasted malt flavor. Sweetness dominates the front of the pallet while the beer finishes with a neutral lager taste that is clean and crisp. Snow Blind is smooth and will keep you warm throughout the winter months.

Soul Shine is a Belgian-style Pale Ale with an American twist. It is generously hopped with blend of American hops to give it a distinct aroma of citrus & tropical fruit. This light-bodied beer has a crisp palate & moderate bitterness, with a spicy finish of fruity esters from our Belgian yeast strain.

Starr Hill’s Taste of Honey Belgian-Style Dubbel is our rendition of the classic Belgian Dubbel in which we substitute wildflower honey from our friends at Hungry Hill Farm in Shipman, Virginia, in place of the traditional Belgian candi sugar. Dark fruit and spicy aromatics from Belgian Abbey yeast meld nicely with caramel and toffee flavors from Munich and chocolate malts. Taste of Honey has a medium body and just enough bitterness for balance.

A German-style Hellerbock with a few twists, The Gift is Starr Hill’s holiday offering. The beautiful golden color only hints at the fire inside. Made with two-row and Munich malts and balanced with German noble hops, The Gift is the perfect accompaniment to any holiday event or festivity.

The Love is an unfiltered wheat beer, also known as a hefeweizen. It is distinguished by its extremely light body and flavored with hints of banana and clove. A slice of lemon can complement this refreshing brew.
