A German-style Altbier, a style originating in the historical region of Westphalia, Germany. Altbier is brewed using ale yeast in contrast with the famous German pilsners, although it is lagered for a while to mature. Hints of caramel, chocolate and a touch of bread in the nose, finishing not too sweet. Bitter to balance, slight nuttiness, both not overpowering and in perfect harmony, finishing perhaps a tad spicy. A true classic.
